Free Themed Guided Tours at “Vladislav Varnenchik” Park-Museum to Celebrate the Anniversary of the Mausoleum’s Opening
On 4 August (Tuesday), at 11:00 and 15:00, “Vladislav Varnenchik” Park-Museum invites visitors to join two themed guided museum tours to celebrate the anniversary of the opening of the symbolic mausoleum of King Władysław III of Poland and Hungary. Participation in the tours is free for all visitors who have purchased an admission ticket to the museum and no advance booking is required.
On 4 August 1935, the opening of the mausoleum became an event of national and international significance. In Bulgaria and Poland, the idea of its construction brought together institutions, public figures and donors, and the funds needed for the construction were raised through fundraising campaigns, postcards, stamps and badges.
Who were the people behind this ambitious project? What challenges arose during the construction of the park complex and what fascinating stories lie behind one of the most iconic monuments associated with the Battle of Varna? Visitors will discover the answers to these and many other questions during the free themed guided tours.
